Regardless of what transportation means you use to come with to Hvar, undoubtedly you will experience a sea journey to island Hvar. When you see Hvar and start to enjoy in its benefits you will know that your journey has paid off.
In the summer ferry connections with islands are intensified, and there are hydro-boats also. summer schedule is valid from 31st of May to 28th of September.
Hvar is connected through the port in Stari Grad, and also by all-coast ferry connection Rijeka-Zadar-Split-Stari Grad-Korčula-Dubrovnik-Bari (three times a week), and by international fast boat connection Pescara-Stari Grad- Split (daily), and by international ferry connection Ancona-Stari Grad-Split-Korčula (twice a week).

Split airport is closest to Hvar (www.split-airport.hr) There is an organised bus transportation to Split harbour. There ask in Jadrolinija offices (www.jadrolinija.hr) ask about regular connection to Hvar.
If there is not direct flight from your destination, then you can fly via Zagreb (www.zagreb-airport.hr) which well connected with Split.
There are two ferry ports on the island of Hvar; Stari Grad and Sućuraj. Stari Grad port is connected to Split and it is closer to Hvar (20 km) and drive to Hvar lasts about 10 minutes. The port in Sućuraj is connected to Drvenik on the mainland and it is further from Hvar as it is on the other side of the island, although this connection saves time to tourists coming from Dubrovnik, Mostar, Sarajevo, etc.
Town parking lot is situated by the bus station. Hotel guests have parking organised by the hotels that they staying in.

The closest bus station is in Split and is right next to the ferry port. Split has excellent connections in all bus directions.
There are buses on the island Hvar-Stari Grad and Jelsa, daily and regularly, and tickets are sold in buses.

The closest train station to Hvar is in Split www.hznet.hr. This station is right next to the bus station and ferry port.
